.........a cross-fertilized bastard of Lemmy and Venom
"If you would cross-fertilize Lemmy and Venom, then the f***ing bastard which would come out of this would be exactly what I like, and I would call it ARCANUM", says Hägar, the drummer and founder of the band. Since he was a boy and went to school, he used the drumsticks and nowadays, he is playing better than ever. And it's clear: There must be groove in the music.

In summer 2004, Hägar and four other musicians founded ARCANUM. After some personal changes, the band had a first successful line-up in spring 2005: The talented female singer Gabi Vari, Hägar on the drums, Cueni (since 2009: Sile) on the guitar and Mato on the bass. Between 2006 and 2012, some CDs were recorded and there were many gigs. The music was dominated by Gabi's strong and melodic voice and by the hard grooves and riffs of the band.

Unfortunately, Gabi Vari retired from music in 2012 and there followed a turbulent time with two less successful line-ups and not many concerts and CDs. Only at the end of 2015, after arrival of Fractor on the bass and on lead vocals, there was a stable line-up again, joined by Namik on lead guitar in 2019 and Obi on rhythm guitar in 2020. The sound got harder, and everything got more heavy. Concerning this, Fractor means the following: "Others just love metal, but I am metal." Right: It must be metallic and there must be a strong groove. – Just as Arcanum do.
